Get a Handle on Your Horse’s Magnets

0903_05

In the September No Worries Club member digital download, Clinton focuses on how to deal with a horse’s magnets – objects the horse is naturally drawn to. Magnets can be things like the arena gate, the barn, other horses in the arena, the horse’s buddies back at the barn, the trailer, etc. Dealing with a horse’s magnets can be frustrating at best and downright dangerous at worst. No matter what the magnet is, they all cause the horse to go off course, whether that be leaving an exercise and trying to go back to the gate or taking off in the middle of a trail ride to get back to the barn or trailer. All magnets involve the horse wanting to be somewhere other than where he is, doing something other than what he is doing.

In this training session, Clinton addresses three common magnets you’re likely to experience with your horse – the arena gate, another horse, and the trailer. He’ll show you how to safely handle each situation and get your horse tuned back in to you.

Watch the training session now by logging on to the No Worries Club website or the Downunder Horsemanship app. Select the NWC video category and then choose the video, “Overcoming Your Horse’s Magnets.”
